Software yang saya pakai buat mempercepat download

Buat yang suka download, saya mau share software yang saya pakai buat mempercepat download nih. Tapi berhubung saya lagi males bikin rekap panjang-panjang, penjelasan dari websitenya saya sertakan di sini. Intinya, software ini bisa mempercepat download dengan cara pipelining. Jadi sedikit mirip torrent yang download bagian per bagian dari file, yang nantinya di-merge jadi satu file lagi. Kelebihan lainnya, kalau server tempat file itu support resuming, kita nggak perlu khawatir kalo download kita belum selesai. Ntar bisa kita lanjutkan lagi.

Pengalaman saya, ini download manager yang paling cepat. Waktu koneksi di kampus saya lagi gedhe-gedhenya, download tercepat bisa sampe 8 MBps. Cukup bisa dibanggakan lah buat koneksi di Indonesia. Tapi nggak bisa sombong-sombong sama koneksi luar negeri yang bisa sampe 20 MBps lebih. Selain itu, buat yang males streaming video di Youtube, Metacafe, atau sejenisnya, IDM bisa dibuat download video content-nya. Jadi setelah download tinggal nonton sepuasnya offline deh.

Devilish Children di PC Media

Artikel pertama saia yang terbit di media nasional

Masih ingat game saia yang saia posting dengan judul Devilish Children??? Game yang saia garap untuk tugas salah satu mata kuliah saia ini, ternyata bisa sampai media nasional loh. Emang sih, bukan usaha sendiri, tapi dengan adanya relasi. Tapi saia bener-bener nggak nyangka kalo game ini bisa multi fungsi. Yang awalnya hanya ide untuk menyenangkan diri sendiri dengan coding di depan laptop, yang setelahnya saia masukkan sebagai tugas akhir mata kuliah algoritma 2, yang kemudian buat ngisi blog saia ini, dan ternyata diminta untuk nulis artikelnya untuk media nasional ini, dan belum berhenti sampai situ, tugas mata kuliah semester 4 ini ternyata juga bisa memanfaatkan game ini.

Kembali ke topik, gimana bisa game ini sampai di media nasional? Media nasional yang manakah? Dibuat dalam bentuk apa?

Saia bikin game ini saat saia sama sekali belum mengenal bahasa pemrograman Java. Niatnya sih, sambil belajar tapi juga main-main. Coba-coba mengimplementasikan obsesi dan ide dalam sebuah karya bernama GAME. Nggak mau rumit-rumit mikirin ide gila dulu, saia terinspirasi sama game dari SEGA yang dulu sering saia mainkan. Akhirnya saia decide untuk membuat game ini. Nah, kebetulan tugas akhir mata kuliah Algoritma 2 saia adalah membuat sebuah project pakai bahasa Java. Saia masukkan saja proposal untuk game ini.

Setelah selesai nggarap versi awal game ini, dengan berbagai macam bug dan source code yang saia sendiri nggak enak ngebacanya, saia dapat nilai 90 untuk tugas akhir itu. Dengan source code yang nggak karuan karena nggarapnya cuma dalam 2 hari, saia jadi nggak tega untuk posting source-nya di blog. Akhirnya kan cuma saia posting hasil akhirnya saja.

Saia sih kepingin bikin ulang dengan source code yang lebih rapi. Tapi apa daya, penyakit "males" udah melanda. Akhirnya source code-nya tergeletak nganggur tak terurus. Beberapa bulan kemudian, datang tawaran dari dosen saia lewat YM. Beliau tanya, mau nggak saia nulis artikel buat majalah komputer PC Media? Wah, PC Media??? Majalah komputer terbesar se-Indonesia??? Ya, ini yang saia maksud sebagai media nasional. Katanya beliau diminta untuk mengisi rubrik Know-How|Coding. Maklumlah, beliau kan sudah punya nama di dunia tulis-menulis bidang IT. Kata beliau lagi, topiknya bisa membahas game buatan saia itu. Kan jadi nggak usah mikir ide lagi.

Saia langsung mengiyakan tawaran itu. Itu berarti, ada beberapa hal yang harus saia lakukan. Yang pasti, jelas bikin ulang source code-nya. Karena source code yang lama benar-benar terlalu memalukan untuk dibaca orang se-Indonesia, apalagi programmer. Bisa diketawain habis-habisan saia ini. Dan yang pasti, pembuatannya harus benar-benar terstruktur supaya layak untuk jadi sebuah artikel dan bisa dibaca orang awam.

Ternyata pembuatannya lumayan memeras otak. Sering banget saia begadang dengan window NetBeans 6.5 tampil di laptop saia, menemani malam yang sepi. Bahkan ketiduran pun laptop saia tetap menyala, dan waktu bangun ya tetap melihat layar dengan jendela NetBeans itu. Sambil bikin ulang source code, sambil nulis artikelnya. Nggak nyangka juga kalau game yang awalnya cuma saia buat dalam dua hari ini bisa menyita sebagian besar waktu saia. Soalnya saia harus sebisa mungkin menerapkan konsep OOP (Object Oriented Programming) dalam game ini. Terlebih lagi dengan kegiatan saia yang kebetulan lagi padat, seperti yang saia posting di Hitung Mundur 18 Hari.

Awalnya, saia pikir satu atau dua seri (masing-masing sekitar 6-8 halaman) bakalan cukup atau bahkan lebih. Tapi ternyata, setelah selesai, jadinya malah 3 seri dengan jumlah halaman masing-masing sekitar 10 halaman (dengan format word 2007). Setelah selesai semuanya, saia kirimkan ke dosen saia itu dan langsung di kirim ke kantor PC Media. Dari awal saia sudah tahu dan sudah diberitahu kalau nama yang tercantum bukan hanya nama saia, tetapi juga nama dosen saia. Wajarlah, saia kan belum jadi apa-apa.

Beberapa hari kemudian, saia dapat konfirmasi. Artikel saia bakalan dimuat selama 3 bulan (3 edisi) berturut-turut mulai bulan April 2009 sampai Juni 2009. Wah, senengnya bukan main. Kalau nggak salah, waktu itu saia lagi persiapan manggung di Saboten. Saia langsung senyum-senyum sendiri, sampai teman saia pada bingung kenapa. Layout dasar hasil editannya yang bakal dicetak juga sudah dikirim ke email saia. Tertulis nama pengarangnya adalah Windra Swastika dan M. Fauzil Haqqi, dengan tagline di bawahnya adalah Universitas Ma Chung.

Berarti ini artikel pertama saia yang masuk media nasional, dan saia bangga. Ternyata saia juga bisa memiliki perasaan bangga akan kerjaan saia. Dan artikel ini juga bisa diakses online di web-nya PC Media, tapi tentu saja setelah edisi berikutnya keluar, biar nggak merugikan penjualan hardcopy-nya kan...

Huft, sebenarnya saia menahan diri sejak lama, kepingin posting ini jauh-jauh hari, tapi saia tunggu dulu momen yang pas dan sekalian posting source dan hasil pembuatan ulang Devilish Children ini. Thanks buat dosen saia yang memberi saia peluang ini. Nggak lupa, thanks juga buat yang ngegambarin karakter Devilish Children, Mas Amri dari warpul celaket Malang, wahaha... Nggak lupa juga, buat seseorang yang secara nggak langsung memberikan pressure yang bisa membuat saia mengeluarkan manajemen stress terbaik saia sehingga saia bisa nyelesaikan versi pertama dalam 2 hari saja, thank berat. Pokoknya thanks buat semua yang nggak menghambat pekerjaan saia ini. Tapi, saia rasa nggak ada yang menghambat kok. Jadi, terima kasih buat semuanya.

MobyExplorer 3.0 Registered

Share software handphone pertama

Langsung posting berikutnya nih, begitu punya handphone java, langsung saia browsing aplikasi dan game yang cocok buat saia. Yang pertama kali saia cari, jelas aplikasi chat YM biasa. Setelah coba-coba, ternyata yang paling cocok memang ebuddy. Habis itu, buat browsing yang enak ya Opera mini. Nggak lupa juga buat gmail saia, saia langsung download dari situsnya. Nah, setelah itu muncul suatu kendala. Waktu browsing FS, mau reply message atau posting bulletin, kadang-kadang gagal. Nah, kalau udah beberapa kali gagal, jelaslah jadi males nyoba lagi. Tapi udah susah-susah ngetik di hp, jadi sayang kalau dihapus. Biasanya, solusinya adalah di-copy, trus disimpan dalam bentuk draft sms.

Nah, muncul lagi masalah. Handphone saia cuma support sampai 10 sms. Kalau lebih dari itu, nggak bisa. Lagian, nggak enak rasanya lihat draft isinya ada banyak. Terus kalau kebaca teman, jadi super nggak enak lagi. Jadi, gimana solusinya?? Akhirnya kepikiran untuk nyari aplikasi text editor untuk handphone. Tapi ternyata buat nyari aja susahnya nggak main-main. Sampai-sampai sempat kepikiran buat bikin sendiri aplikasinya. Sayangnya, sebelum belajar J2ME saia dapat anugerah. Di bundle aplikasi yang saia download, ada satu aplikasi yang namanya MobyExplorer v2.1.

Fiturnya bagus, gampang digunakan. Waktu saia coba-coba, ternyata juga ada fitur text editor. Sayangnya, ternyata versi yang saia punya itu 'unregistered'. Jadinya setiap beberapa kali operasi, pasti muncul peringatan untuk register. Waktu saia coba buka websitenya (www.bermin.net), ternyata versi registerednya harus bayar. Dan lagi versi terbarunya sudah 3.0. Saia langsung semangat nyari versi 3.0 yang registered. Setelah bertahun-tahun nyari, akhirnya ketemu juga. Photoshop CS3 Portable

Wow, first time I try this version, I was falling in love. Why? The interface is really different from the previous version. But the difference doesn't mean negative. I like the new interface very much. The button and window location is better to be viewed. New features were added too. For example, wrap feature was added for transforming tools.



Anyway, this is the portable version. I haven't try using this yet, after downloading. I was uploading when the upload rate is high in my university. Someone said that we can add plug-ins too, like Eye Candy. But again, I haven't try this software yet. I am using desktop version.

Guitar Pro 5.2 with RSE

Again, software for musician to create digital music.

Almost all musician (especially guitarist) know this software, Guitar Pro, a software that display a tab and a music sheet from file with extension .gp*. Actually since a long time ago I want to share this software, but I have no time to upload. So, it's just finished. Because what I wanted to share also with the RSE.

Ok, in this version 5.2, Guitar Pro has additional RSE that more natural, although not as natural as the genuine sound. The available RSEs are Guitar, Bass, and Drum. Each RSE has Legend version which is like the sound effect of guitar legend. But I just share the Guitar and Bass RSE, because RSE drum is not too important, we can use FL Studio instead.

How to install: Make sure all downloaded files is in 1 folder. Run the part 1 and use the password. Extract to any destination. Install the Guitar Pro master using the serial number, then install the RSE.

Nih, satu lagi. Software buat bikin musik digital. Siapa musisi (gitaris) yang nggak tahu Guitar Pro, software yang bisa langsung nampilin tab sama partitur dari file ber-ekstensi .gp*. Sebetulnya sudah dari dulu aku pingin share software ini. Tapi nggak ada waktu buat nge-upload. Alhasil, selesainya barusan aja. Maklum, yang mau aku kasih yang ada RSE-nya sekalian.

Nah, di versi 5.2 ini guitar pro punya tambahan rse yang semakin nyata (meski nggak senyata aslinya). RSE yang tersedia ada bass, guitar, sama drum. Tiap RSE ada versi legend-nya yang berarti itu mirip dengan suara efek gitaris-gitaris legendaris. Tapi yang aku share di sini cuma RSE guitar sama bass aja. Soalnya kalau drum nggak terlalu penting. Kan bisa pakai FL Studio.

Biasanya, kalau mau bikin lagu, aku buat dulu versi digital gitarnya. Habis itu baru buat drum digitalnya, terakhir bass sama efek-efek yang perlu. Habis di buat di FL Studio, di convert tiap track jadi wav, trus di edit di Adobe Audition 3, dan terakhir di mix. Buat yang mau Adobe Audition 3 ntar kasih comment, baru aku upload.

NDS Emulator (no$Gba 2.6a)

Wow, finally this emulator has come. The previous version is suck, so slow. And sometimes my saved game was lost due to manually choose the save card. Because if we fail to choose correct save card, the saved game will be crashed. This version give the solutions. We can play faster than before and we can run the cracked opengl view so we can play with 2x zoom.

I used Yu-Gi-Oh Spirit Caller for comparison. When using version 2.6, the maximum speed is 225% and at battle will be slowed to 70%. But I was falling in love after try the 2.6a version. The maximum speed reach 500% and at battle upto 115%, better than before.

And the most I like is the automation of save card. We can enjoy play any game without worrying our save game will be crashed. But I still have a disappointing thing. The save game won't be written on disk before you close your emulator. So it's just buffered. I experienced my electricity accidentally turned off. I had been playing Harvest Moon DS for about 3 hours, and didn't close the emulator yet. Of course my saved game was lost and return to the last saved before I started playing.

Fruity Loops Studio 8

Hm... I think this post will help musicians.

Okay, of course I will share software again, now for digital musician. For musician, who doesn't know about this software, Fruity Loops Studio 8 made by Image-Line. At the first time I just used this software to create drum loops. But I found that the functions is more than I thought. Sometimes I mix my tracks with FL's mixer (previously I combine my tracks one by one in Adobe Audition 3). And I found that we can add some plug-ins that more useful.

Amplitube 2.1.2

Benar-benar digital guitar effect.

Nih, susahnya jadi masyarakat ekonomi menengah ke bawah. Minta dibeliin efek gitar (soalnya gitar listrik sudah ada, pinjam), eh, ternyata gitarnya diambil sama yang punya. Jadinya malah beli gitar listrik dulu dengan dana yang ada. Yah, nggak bisa berkembang donk aku... Tapi ternyata ada software ini nih, Amplitube, buat yang nggak punya efek gitar atau buat yang iseng-iseng pingin main musik digital.

Amplitube berfungsi benar-benar seperti gear gitar. Ada tuner, stomp box effect, amplifier, cabinet, dan rack. Tiap bagian juga ada banyak jenis.

Amplitube juga bisa digunakan untuk play lagu. Jadi bisa dipakai buat nyariin nada lagu tanpa winamp atau media player lain. Output yang dihasilkan pun juga bagus. Benar-benar seperti digital effect yang berada di dunia digital (alah...).

Sayangnya, perlu dilakukan pengaturan manual sample rate input sama output-nya, nggak bisa secara otomatis. Kalau nggak pasti suaranya bakal putus-putus. Trus, program ini juga punya latency yang cukup terasa. Bayangin, aku main pakai laptop (MSI S-271) dengan AMD Turion X2, ram 875mb saja masih ada latency (jeda antara input -memetik senar gitar- dengan output yang dihasilkan). Padahal setting-annya sudah aku atur sedemikian rupa. Dan lagi, program ini kayaknya sulit buat musisi panggung. Soalnya kan biasanya switch efek pakai kaki, nah, ini harus pakai mouse, nggak ada cara buat assign shortcut-nya.

Cara meng-installnya agak rumit. Habis di-extract pakai password yang bener, jalankan setup-nya. Setelah finish, masukkan serial number (cari di keygen). Jangan ditutup dulu keygen-nya. Jalanin sesuai prosedur. Aku lupa tapi kayaknya connect using another computer, trus copy product ID ke keygen. Setelah itu tinggal activate, selesai deh.

Microsoft Office 2007 Portable

Haha... Akhirnya dapat inspirasi buat posting.

Sebenernya aku juga pernah mengalami hal ini sih. Ceritanya simpel aja, waktu sekretaris panitia kegiatan Te***op**n**r di mana aku jadi SC itu mau ngebagiin undangan, aku lihat format undangannya aneh banget. Agak-agak melenceng dari format yang biasanya. Dia bilang sih karena di rumahnya dia ngetik pakai Office 2007, tapi karena dia nggak punya printer, akhirnya dia nge-print di warnet yang masih pakai Office 2003. Yah, akhirnya format tab-nya dan sebagainya sedikit melenceng.

Aku juga pernah ngalami jauh sebelum kejadian ini. Singkatnya, aku di rumah juga pakai Office 2007, juga nggak punya printer. Nah, waktu nge-print di warnet, jumlah halamannya tuh nambah 1. Padahal waktu di rumah sudah aku pas-pasin. Alhasil karena sedikit melenceng, beberapa caption gambar yang teletak di bagian bawah misah sama gambarnya, hiks hiks.

Tapi sekarang sudah nggak kayak gitu lagi. Sekarang kalau mau nge-print di warnet aku pasti bawa versi portable Office 2007. Berhubung ternyata banyak orang yang nasibnya sama kayak aku, aku jadi pingin nge-share software ini. Nih link-nya :

Cara meng-install-nya cukup gampang kok. Tinggal di extract dulu pake winrar, masukkan passwordnya, trus di dalamnya pasti ada winrar self-extractor-nya. Jadi otomatis minta extract waktu dijalankan. Nah, habis itu tinggal extract aja ke flashdisk kamu, beres deh.

Aku rasa ini pasti banyak gunanya buat yang nggak punya printer, tapi di rumah pakai Office 2007. Apalagi sekarang banyak warnet yang nggak kuat beli Office asli, jadinya pakai Open Office. Wah, kalo dari Office 2003/2007 dibuka di Open Office pasti banyak berubah deh formatnya... Mending pakai versi portablenya aja, aman. Tinggal bilang ke operator warnetnya, "Mbak /Mas, mau nge-print nih. Tapi format-nya Office 2007...". Operatornya pasti bilang, " Maaf Mas / Mbak, di sini cuma ada Open Office 2.0". Kamu tinggal balas aja sambil senyum-senyum, "Tenang Mbak / Mas, aku ada versi portablenya kok!!!".

Tambahan : Kalau kamu lihat PC yang di operator kesannya lemot, mending kamu nggak usah bilang kalo kamu punya versi portablenya. Langsung aja ganti warnet. Cos aku pernah pengalaman di warnet yang pc operator tempat nge-print-nya lambat, masukin registry yang di versi portable lama amat, bisa sampai 10 menit sebelum Office-nya di jalankan. Sudah gitu orangnya bilang kalo nggak bisa nge-print warna terakhir-terakhir. Eh, malah Office portableku yang dia minta copy. Udah gitu ngopinya lama lagi, sampai setengah jam. Bayangin, nge-print aja nggak jadi, malah buang-buang waktu nungguin dia ngopi Office Portable-ku. Tapi aku nggak marah kok, ikhlasin aja... Wong kita mbantuin orang yang nggak bisa download. Ya kan ya kan...

Eye Candy 5.1

Ehm, for you who need photoshop's filters, will be helped by this.

I will share the plugin that I think quite good. Maybe there are so many people who know about this plugin. Like the name, this plugin will be sweet to try. Eye Candy is the plugin made by Alien Skin.

The first time I tried this plugin is when my first year in senior high school. At that time the version is still version 3. Since that whenever I want to design something, I always use that plugin. Not so long, the next version released called Eye Candy 4000. Wow, the features are better. Not so long again, I am too lazy to design for a period of time (I don't experience Photoshop CS).

After my "photoshop soul" come back, I start to use Photoshop CS2. At that time too, I get Eye Candy version 5. This version is parted into 3 categories: Impact, Nature, and Textures. All of them become my primary tools in my photoshop way. But in this version I feel something missing from previous version. So I still using version 4, Eye Candy 4000. Inside the pack I uploaded are:

Portable Photoshop CS2

Wow, posting about software again.

But it's okay, for a charity (or piracy? Haha...). That's not the point, as everyone being helped and the purpose is not for commerce. Now I want to share Photoshop CS2. Everyone all know about this software, senior of digital image processor that have no competitor. Although this software is already shared in some forums, although there is CS3 version, although this or that, I still want to share the CS2. Because this version is not too heavy for computer. And also, what I share now is the portable CS2 version, which can run in every computer without installing firstly.

Same as before, actually this post was posted in my other blog. I posted during the booming of image editing task using photoshop in my university. I hope this software will help my friends. Because in my university, computer lab is not allowed to be installed by software not from Micr**oft. So I think someone who doesn't have laptop will be helped by using this software in public computer lab.

Lock Folder XP 3.5

Again, software sharing from me.

I think this software will be very helpful to prevent unwanted person seeing your files in your computer. I have found many softwares like this, but the most I like is Lock Folder XP. The name has "XP" part, and of course works in XP. But I haven't try on Vista yet.

This software can lock and hide drives, folders, or access control to control panel. Since I using this software, I never worried if someone want to use my computer. I will lock my unrestricted files before(because I have experienced my files are viewed without my permission).

Firstly, extract the RAR file. After that, run lockfldr.exe to start the installation. A restart confirmation will be displayed. Just restart, and then copy the patch to the installation directory. Run that patch, and happy locking!

Ok, this is my first software sharing....

I think most of you have known about this software? For you who don't know yet, I will tell you. This software will help us to manage our computer system (I use Win**ws). For us who don't know how to manipulate registries, this software will be very helpful. Our computer will run more optimal.
